Jawahar Vidya Mandir is a co-educational English medium school situated in the sylvan and serene surroundings of Shyamali Colony of MECON LIMITED, a Govt. of India Enterprise under Ministry of Steel. The school imparts education from Prep to the Senior Secondary Level. It is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and is managed by a School Managing Committee appointed by MECON, Ranchi. The School aims to encourage the all round development of a child, fostering in him / her a love for excellence tempered by compassion and human values. The current enrolment of students stands at an impressive 5500 (approx). The institution came into being with the basic objective of providing quality education to the wards of MECON/SAIL employees. Now it has taken up a larger role and provides education to various segments of society and aims to inculcate moral values, social responsibility and provides environment required for all round development of personality with all necessary traits.
