Purushottam Institute of Engineering & Technology, Rourkela is managed by the Puroshottam Education and Welfare Trust founded in the year 1998 by a cohesive group of highly educated and enlightened persons from various socio-economic segments such as technocrats, administrative, practicing engineers, management personnel, Industrialists, social workers and esteemed senior citizens of the Steel City, Rourkela. The purpose of the Trust is to carry out diversified social, welfare and educational activities in the state of Orissa in General and Rourkela in particular. Besides community welfare activities, the trust also aims at imparting excellence in various facets of professional education such as Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Telecommunication, Electronics & Instrumentation, Management, Mass Communication, Banking & Commerce for which there is dirth of integrated institute in Orissa.
